A Disturbing Picture
It got around recently that Dan Cox’s brother was arrested in 2016 for possession of child pornography.
Peter Cox, 31, of the 3700 block of Niner Road, was charged with five counts of possession and five counts of distribution of child pornography, according to a news release from the Maryland State Police…..
….Troopers found multiple pictures of child pornography, all in digital forms, according to the news release.
That led to Peter Cox being listed as a registered Tier 1 sex offender.
Now, that in and of itself is of no concern to me. Peter Cox is not Dan Cox, Peter Cox isn’t running for Governor, he didn’t ask for this scrutiny.
But it raises some questions about Dan Cox. Like what did he know about his brother’s sex crimes and when did he know it?
Now combine that question with the fact that Dan Cox helped get a convicted child sex offender out of jail so he could live less than a mile from a school.
Now combine that with the fact that Cox lied about his involvement in the case AND attacked the victim.
Now combine that with the fact that Cox was the only member of the House Judiciary Committee to oppose a bill to repeal the prohibition on prosecuting spousal rape in Maryland.
Now combine that with the fact that Dan Cox voted to oppose a bill that would protect victims of Child Sex Trafficking both in Committee and on the floor of the House.
The picture this paints is an ugly one. It’s a painting that makes it seem Dan Cox is far too comfortable with leniency for sexual offenders, particularly child sex offenders, than any person in public office should be.
When you combine that all together, it makes it clear that Dan Cox is an existential threat to the safety of our children. Plain and simple.
