American Eats: Idaho. Donny's Trailer Park Cuisine
We reach the first place on this list that is actually closed. And it says something about how long since I visited Idaho because it closed a dozen years ago.
Donnie Mac’s Trailer Park Cuisine was another one of those places featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives for having unique food served in a unique way.
The entire premise was to serve “low-brow food” in a low-brow way. Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils, for example. Except the food was turned up a bit, “low-brow food” served in a higher brow way.
Truth be told, it’s been thirteen years since I ate there and I remember very little of it other than the atmosphere. So here’s the clip from DDD that shows off the joint and proves that being on the Food Network is not the be-all and end-all it’s cracked up for be.
