Why are you running for President? *
I am deeply concerned about the state of our democracy. Partisan gridlock, corruption, and the influence of money in politics have eroded public trust and hindered progress. I believe in a government that is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of its citizens. My aim is to restore faith in our democratic institutions and work towards a more inclusive and participatory democracy. Lastly, I am running for President because I believe in the power of unity and bringing people together. Our nation is deeply divided along ideological, racial, and socioeconomic lines. It is time for us to bridge these divides, find common ground, and work collaboratively towards shared goals. I want to foster a sense of national unity, where we celebrate our diversity and recognize that our strength lies in our ability to unite as one nation. I am running for President to champion social and economic justice, address climate change and environmental sustainability, restore faith in our democracy, and promote national unity. I am committed to leading our country toward a brighter future where everyone has equal opportunities and a voice in shaping their destiny.
Who do you consider your political role model, and why? *
I draw inspiration from the leadership and principles exemplified by George Washington, the first President of the United States. George Washington's legacy as a statesman, and military leader, and his dedication to the principles of democracy and unity serve as a powerful model for my political aspirations. While George Washington did not align himself with any particular political party, his emphasis on unity and putting the nation's interests first continues to inspire me. I share his belief that the well-being of the country should supersede partisan divisions. As a presidential candidate, I strive to emulate George Washington's leadership qualities, commitment to integrity, and vision of a united and prosperous nation.
What is your favorite book about politics and policy, and why? *
"Going Public" is a book written by Michael Gecan, a community organizer and activist. The book delves into the realm of community organizing and the power of grassroots movements to bring about social and political change. Gecan draws on his experiences as a community organizer with the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) to offer insights into the process of building effective community organizations and mobilizing collective action. One of the central themes in "Going Public" is the importance of individuals and communities taking ownership of their own destinies. Gecan emphasizes the significance of organizing and engaging local communities to address issues such as economic inequality, education, and social justice. He argues that true power lies in the hands of everyday people when they come together to work towards common goals.
What will be your top priority if elected? *
When elected, my top priority will be to foster economic growth and create opportunities for all Americans. I firmly believe that a strong economy is the foundation for a prosperous and equitable society. By focusing on economic growth, we can address various other challenges and uplift the lives of individuals and communities across the country. By prioritizing economic growth and creating opportunities for all Americans, we can address key challenges such as poverty, healthcare access, education, and more. My administration will be dedicated to fostering an environment where individuals and businesses can thrive, ensuring that every American has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to our shared prosperity.
What are the three biggest issues facing our country? *
1. Poverty: Poverty is a pervasive issue that affects millions of Americans. It hinders social mobility, exacerbates inequality, and diminishes opportunities for individuals and communities. 2. Inflation: Inflation can erode the purchasing power of individuals and negatively impact the economy. 3. Access to Healthcare: Ensuring affordable and accessible healthcare for all Americans is crucial for overall well-being and equitable opportunities.
What is your position on life issues? (abortion, assisted suicide) *
1. Abortion: I believe in striking a balance that respects both the rights of women and the value of life. I support a woman's right to make decisions about her own body and reproductive health. However, I also recognize the importance of safeguarding the sanctity of life, particularly as pregnancy progresses. I support comprehensive and accessible healthcare services, including contraception and family planning education, to help prevent unintended pregnancies. Additionally, I believe in promoting policies and resources that provide support for expectant mothers, such as access to prenatal care, parenting classes, and adoption services. The goal should be to reduce the number of abortions through education, prevention, and compassionate support for women facing challenging circumstances. 2. Assisted Suicide: The topic of assisted suicide raises profound ethical, moral, and legal questions. While it is essential to respect individual autonomy and the right to make end-of-life decisions, it is equally important to ensure the protection of vulnerable populations and prioritize the provision of quality palliative care. I support expanding access to comprehensive palliative care services to manage pain, alleviate suffering, and enhance the quality of life for individuals facing terminal illnesses. It is crucial to foster a compassionate approach that prioritizes support, comfort, and dignity for those nearing the end of their lives.
What is your position on taxes, spending, and the federal deficit? *
1. Taxes: I believe in maintaining a fair and equitable tax system that promotes economic growth, supports social welfare, and ensures fiscal sustainability. I would strive for a balanced approach that considers the needs of both businesses and individuals. 2. Spending: I support responsible and prudent spending that prioritizes key areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social safety nets. 3. Federal Deficit: While it is essential to address the federal deficit, it should be done in a balanced manner to avoid undue negative impacts on the economy.
What is your position on gun rights? *
When it comes to gun control, I believe in upholding everyone's Second Amendment right to protect themselves. However, it is crucial to understand and interpret the Second Amendment in its entirety. The amendment starts with the phrase "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State," which highlights the importance of a well-regulated framework for gun ownership. It is this aspect of regulation that should be emphasized and implemented to ensure the safety and security of our communities. While individuals have the right to bear arms, it is important to recognize that a single person with a gun does not constitute a well-regulated militia. It is therefore essential to establish responsible gun ownership practices and hold gun owners accountable for ensuring that firearms do not end up in the wrong hands. This can be achieved through the organization and development of community-driven regulations that promote responsible gun ownership and prevent unauthorized access to firearms.
What is your position on the federal legalization of marijuana? *
The federal legalization of marijuana holds tremendous potential to free up resources within our criminal justice system, revitalize local economies, generate tax revenue, and promote consumer safety. By embracing this shift, we can create a fairer and more prosperous society, where valuable resources are directed toward vital neighborhood services, jobs are created, and economic growth is stimulated. It is time to recognize the evolving societal attitudes toward marijuana and leverage its potential to bring about positive change for individuals and communities across the nation.
What is your position on trade? *
1. Export Promotion and Assistance: I would prioritize export promotion by establishing dedicated agencies or programs that provide comprehensive support to American businesses seeking to enter international markets. 2. Streamlined Trade Processes: Simplifying trade processes and reducing bureaucratic barriers is crucial for facilitating exports. 3. Market Diversification: To increase exports, it is essential to diversify export markets beyond traditional trading partners. 4. Support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs): SMEs play a significant role in job creation and innovation. 5. Investment in Export-oriented Industries: I would encourage investment in industries that have the potential for high-value exports. 6. Collaboration with Business and Labor: Increasing exports and creating jobs require collaboration with both the business community and labor organizations. 7. Investment in Workforce Development: To support the growth of export-oriented industries, I prioritize investments in workforce development and vocational training programs.

National Security: Ensuring the security of our nation and its citizens is of paramount importance. 4. Human Rights and Democracy: I believe in upholding human rights, democracy, and the rule of law both domestically and internationally. 5. Counterterrorism and Nonproliferation: I would continue to prioritize efforts to combat terrorism and prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. 6. Economic Diplomacy: Economic interests play a significant role in foreign policy. I prioritize economic diplomacy to expand trade opportunities, attract foreign investment, and promote economic cooperation with other nations. 7. Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding: I believe in proactive engagement in conflict resolution and peacebuilding efforts around the world.
