Coca-Cola Move: "If You Like Piña Coladas...."
If you are a fan of the mixed drink, Coca-Cola Move may be for you
We can all agree that “Escape (The Piña Colada Song)” by Rupert Holmes is an awful song about two horrible people trying to commit infidelity.
But you’ll be singing it once you take a swig of Coca-Cola’s newest flavor, Move.
A year ago I wrote about Coca-Cola’s Coca-Cola Starlight. Six months ago, it was Coca-Cola Dreamworld. And this week, we got our hands on a bottle of Coke Zero Move.
It is by far the best of the trio.
So, this is how Coke’s website describes the drink:
The newest Coca-Cola® Creation, co-created with one of the most daring artists in music today, is a celebration of transformation. A homage to all the versions of ourselves that coexist within us, and that forms our very own personality. Coca-Cola® Move is a tribute to the different faces of transformation, mixing a great, but familiar Coca-Cola® taste with both bold and delicate flavors. Coca-Cola® Move is available for a limited time only, so get yours before the newest from Coca-Cola® Creations moves on for good.
The “daring artist” is Rosalía, whom I’d never heard of before buying this bottle of soda. Apparently she is “an "atypical pop star" due to her genre-bending musical styles.”
The corporatese is absolutely nonsensical, so how does it taste?
It actually takes a minute to recognize what it was. The initial taste was a fruit and cream-type beverage akin to Dr. Pepper’s Strawberries and Cream, but without the obvious Dr. Pepper taste. It was on subsequent sips that the taste of coconut was providing the creamy flavor. Then, the pineapple hit. Once you recognize the flavor, you realize it’s a pretty spot-on rendition.
Once you understand what you are drinking, it’s a decent drink. You will not want it to replace your regular Coke Zero or Cherry Coke, but it’s pretty nice for what it is.
Like all of these limited edition flavors, it’s around for a limited time so try it now while you can.
