Controversial Teacher Resurfaces at Annapolis High School
Hoard was placed on "indefinite leave" from previous school over alleged grooming incidents.
A controversial transgender teacher placed on indefinite leave after a series of incidents in Anne Arundel County has resurfaced at a new school.
Teacher Willa “Billie” Hord was placed on “indefinite leave” from Chesapeake High School after a series of controversial incidents at the school. However, Hoard appears to have resurfaced as a teacher AP World History at Annapolis High School recently.
Hoard, a biological male born as William Edward Hoard, teaches Social Studies at the school. Hoard legally changed their name to Willa Edlyn Hoard in March 2022.
Hoard wrote about the transition:
So it turns out I’m a woman. Surprise!
I guess, to be more specific, I am a woman of the transgender variety. Which is to say that I am a woman who was mistaken for a little boy at birth, whose family and society ran with that since my body matched the expectations they had, first for a boy and later for a man, who only fully realized my own womanhood a few years ago and who is just now telling the world that-well intentioned as I am sure it was-we were all wrong about my gender.
A parent at Chesapeake alleged that Hoard, advisor to the Gay Straight Alliance, was grooming their child.
Hoard also allegedly participated in a Discord server with other current students at Chesapeake.
From the dismay of the parent in the above post from the Annapolis High School Community, it appears that parents were not notified about Hoard’s removal from Chesapeake High School or given the reasons why Hoard was removed from the classroom.
The Duckpin had heard unconfirmed rumors in November that Hoard had been permanently fired from the County Public School System. It appears those rumors were unfounded.
