Dan Cox decided to parrot the Democratic talking points about their recent poll.
Cox decided to link to a story by Bruce DePuyt in Maryland Matters today about the Democratic poll.
DePuyt’s story carried the load for the Democrats on this by refusing to admit that the poll was a “push poll”
The Schulz campaign would not make anyone available for an interview about the poll. In a statement, spokesman Mike Demkiw declined to address the poll’s findings or methodology, except to characterize it as a “push poll” — though the pollsters asked no questions that distorted facts or spun hypothetical scenarios.
DePuyt refused to categorize it as a push poll, despite the fact that it literally meets the textbook definition of push poll:
Not entirely sure why DePuyt is basically working for the Democrats in his characterizing of this poll.
That brings us back to Cox. You see, the Democrats wanted this story out there. They wanted people to pick up on the idea that Dan Cox can win the Republican Primary. For the exact same reason that I wrote last week:
The point of this poll is to make more Republican voters know that Dan Cox was endorsed by Donald Trump in a an effort to manipulate the Republican Primary. Whoever is paying Public Policy Polling wants Republican voters to vote for Dan Cox because Cox would be easy to beat in the November General Election.
The moral of this story? Somebody in the Democratic Party is scared to death of Kelly Schulz.
Now that we know it was the Maryland Democratic Party, it all makes sense don’t you think?
The Democrats line of thinking is evident here?
So why the hell is Dan Cox parroting the Democratic talking points here? Well, there are only two possible reasons:
Cox’s campaign is so broke that this is the only type of polling data that they have been able to afford; or,
Cox and his political team are too dumb to realize how weak this entire escapade makes them look.
Take your pick which one it is. But either way Cox is showing us exactly why he is not the competent champion of conservatives he likes to pretend he is.
The Democrats poll that Cox loves so much is trash. And the first legitimate poll, when that happens, will bear that out.
