Cox Beaten Hard Across Maryland
Dan Cox Underperformed Statewide, proving that nominating good candidates is important.
A quick analysis of the unofficial returns shows that Republican gubernatorial nominee Dan Cox underperformed in every county across Maryland.
Looking at statewide data and data in counties with a county executive candidate on top of the ticket, Cox underperformed anywhere from 3.9% in Wicomico all the way to a whopping 14.2% in Howard County.
Somehow, Cox managed to underperform a former member of a successionist organization AND a U.S. Senate candidate who raised less than $5,000 and managed to lose control over his campaign website domain during the election.
Cox even underperformed professional doofus Pat McDonough in Baltimore County and failed to break 50% in his own home county of Frederick.
This is, of course, a good reminder that candidates matter and campaigns matter. A message that, in his concession statement, Cox still has not learned.
