he Washington Times yesterday published a rather benign AP piece discussing some of the issues facing the Maryland General Assembly this year.
But what really struck me, maybe more so than it usually does, is what the Democrats said about abortion:
Senate President Bill Ferguson, a Baltimore Democrat, agreed.
“I think that we must do whatever we can to make sure, most importantly, that Maryland women, the providers and then those who come for health care to the state of Maryland are protected from prosecution for conversations or the health care services performed between a provider and a woman,” Ferguson said.
With more women expected to travel into Maryland for abortions, another measure would protect patients and providers in Maryland from criminal, civil and administrative penalties that apply to abortion bans or restrictions in other states. A separate bill would ensure public colleges and universities in Maryland have a plan for student access near campuses to birth control, including emergency contraception and abortion pills. A data-privacy bill will aim to protect medical and insurance records.
“We lost constitutional protections at the federal level, so we obviously need to take action to put them in the Maryland Constitution, and then the rest of the package is really about ensuring that providers and patients can safely access care in Maryland,” said Del. Ariana Kelly, a Democrat who is sponsoring the higher education bill.
The euphemisms really struck me.
“Health care services”
“Provider”
“Constitutional protections”
“Safely access care”
Democrats will do anything to go out of their way to avoid talking about when abortion is.
There is no kind of “health care service” where the goal is the termination of human life.
There is nothing “safe” about an aborton, particularly when you are the unborn child. Every abortion has a goal of killing at least 50% of the people involved in the procedure.
There was never a “constitutional protection” for abortion included in the Constitution. It was a legal theory invented by the Supreme Court out of whole cloth.
And of course, abortion is not at risk in Maryland due to the Democratic supermajority in the General Assembly.
An abortion is the termination of a human life. No matter how many euphemisms you want to use, no matter how many ways you don’t want to talk about it, the point of an abortion is to kill a baby. There is no dispute, even from the radical pro-abortion enthusiasts, as to what truly happens here. And yet, despite their enthusiasm for abortion, Democrats still refuse to say what it actually is.
None of this should surprise me. I wrote last year about just how sick Democrats like this are. After all, Ariana Kelly, who is probably most famous for her indecent exposure and trespassing arrest in 2015, is the poster child for how radicalized Democrats are on the abortion issue..
It should be illegal to kill a child. Democrats want to make it not only legal, but easy too. And that is morally repulsive in ways that words truly can’t describe. And yet, the way that these Democrats dehumanize unborn children shows a disconnect from reality and morality that is truly hard to stomach.
