Democrats Attack Cox for.....Being Sick?
Attacking Cox for having a stomach virus shows just how unserious Maryland Democrats are about being honest with voters and in talking about their failed record of leadership in Maryland
I’m not exactly one to come out and defend Dan Cox. So imagine how badly the Maryland Democratic Party screwed up for me to come out and defend him.
Whichever pimple-faced intern who runs the Maryland Democratic Party Facebook account posted yesterday that both Cox and Ed Hale “don’t even pretend to care about Marylanders” by not appearing at the North County Republican Club’s Republican Gubernatorial forum on Thursday evening.
Democrats also put out a half-baked press release pushing the idea, while also pushing the idea that Trump is on the ballot this year, according to a statement from wealth horseman, accidental Anne Arundel County Executive, and hare-brained Democratic Party Chairman Steuart Pittman.
That Ed Hale was not present is understandable. Hale never committed, and honestly, the idea of hanging out in a room full of Republicans answering questions from washed-out former WBAL Radio Hosts was probably not appealing to a lifelong Democrat like Hale.
But Dan Cox not only announced he wasn’t appearing at the debate, he explained why and apologized for it.
That the Maryland Democratic Party didn’t take a solid thirty seconds to do even the bare minimum amount of research reminds us how stupid they think Maryland voters are. That Matthew Schumer of The Baltimore Sun also failed to mention it in his story shows a basic failure of journalism that has become endemic throughout the past fifteen years of writing at The Sun regardless of who owns it.
The fact that Maryland Democrats are attacking Dan Cox for missing a debate due to getting a stomach virus during a year where stomach viruses have been vicious and rampant is ridiculous, insulting, and it shows just how unserious Maryland Democrats are about being honest with voters and in talking about their failed record of leadership in Maryland. But I guess when you are running with Wes Moore and his record of taxes, spending, and failure at the top of the ticket, you have to focus on anything but your own candidates.
