Do You Know Who Your Candidate Supports In Elections Outside the US? You Need To!!
Why is Gordana Schifanelli siding with France's National Front?
Gordana Schifanelli has several times tweeted her support for Marine Le Pen, an extreme right-wing challenger for the French presidency.
Gordana stated in a tweet: “ . . . France – they have the election this weekend and I pray Marie LaPen wins in a landslide. “
In another bizarre twitter response, the original tweet from The Washington Post read: “French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen called for reconciliation between NATO and Russia, and reiterated a pledge to pull French personnel out of NATO’s integrated command if she is elected. “ Gordana’s tweet in response: “About time.”
Another tweet showing support for Marine La Pen (BTW, Gordana, please spell her name correctly): “HUGE: Marin LePen: 27.8 v Emanuel Macron: 26.2!!!! You can do it FRANCE!!!!! Vote for Freedom!!! #LePen for Freedom!!! End this Globalist BS!”
Let’s look at some facts about Marine Le Pen.
She is a skeptic of the European Union and NATO. She peddles a hyper-nationalism that could possibly take France out of both NATO and the EU.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz wrote about the election in France: “It is a choice between a democratic candidate, who believes that France grows in a powerful EU and a far-right candidate, who openly sides with those attacking our freedom and democracy.”
She has championed Russian actions in Ukraine in 2014 and has extolled Putin’s rule. She says that Ukraine belongs in Russia’s sphere of influence.
Her party has loans from banks linked to Russia.
She proposed a new Franco-Russian alliance, even if it provoked American sanctions. She supports the establishment of a “privileged partnership” with Russia.
She defended Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula.
She says that Russia did not intend to invade Ukraine. She argues against providing Ukraine heavy weaponry.
8. She argues against banning Russian oil and gas imports.
9. She pushes for a NATO-Russia rapprochement that would likely
come at the expense of Ukrainian political aspiration.
10. She is pro-Russian, her Pro-Kremlin rhetoric aimed at
undermining the EU unity and fragmenting NATO.
Former Italian PM says: “And European integration will lose, as it will stop and backpedal. And populist, anti-European ideals will take root in other European countries.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/04/22/macron-le-pen-europe-brink/
I really have to wonder why Gordana supports Marine Le Pen and the Russians? I have to wonder also why Dan Cox took a walk when the General Assembly voted for solidarity for Ukraine during this last session?
Does Dan Cox support Ukraine’s sovereignty and therefore support the United States with NATO and the EU assisting Ukraine? It doesn’t look like Dan does.
For me: I do NOT want to see history repeat itself again in any part of Europe or around the world.
