Ex-Republican Don Quinn Resurfaces to Run for Congress
Don Quinn was a controversial Republican State Senate Candidate in 2014
Former Republican candidate for State Senate and Anne Arundel County Republican Central Committee member Don Quinn has resurfaced to run for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District as a Democrat.
Quinn was the Republican nominee for State Senate in District 30, falling 931 votes short against then-Senator John Astle. His candidacy was endorsed by former Governor Bob Ehrlich and former RNC Chairman Michael Steele.
Quinn’s campaign was a mess of issues with the candidate’s integrity.
Quinn lied about his education, falsely claiming that he had a college degree when he did not,
Quinn defended lying about his education in a rambling statement.
There were questions about Quinn’s residency.
Quinn’s business at the time was also about delinquent in their taxes.
The thing most remembered about Quinn from the time? His enormous ego despite a relatively thin record of accomplishments.
Quinn went on to start attacking fellow Republicans while a member of the Central Committee before ultimately resigning in disgrace.
Quinn’s commitment to his elected position was non-existent. After missing three meetings in a row, a procedure was started to remove Quinn from the Central Committee. Instead, Quinn resigned from the committee and quit the GOP entirely, switching his registration to Democrat.
Quinn discussed his 2014 candidacy several times on Red Maryland programming.
Quinn doesn't have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the Democratic primary, but it is always a source of amusement when people who think they are God’s Gift to politics can’t stay away from running for office….
