Freshman Delegate Running for Congress
"Progressive" Delegate Joe Vogel is running for Congress fresh off of keynoting a dinner named in honor of a former Ku Klux Klan Organizer
Delegate Joe Vogel has been in office for a whopping 113 days, but he is already looking for his next gig.
Vogel filed paperwork on Thursday establishing a campaign committee to run for Congress in the 6th Congressional District.
James Newton first reported the filing on Twitter.
The 26-year Vogel, who ran as a radical left-wing “progressive”, is the first Democratic candidate to announce their candidacy.
Inconveniently for Vogel, he was recently the keynote speaker for a dinner named in honor of a former member of the Ku Klux Klan.
It is unclear what role Vogel speaking to a dinner named in honor of a Klansman will have in the primary. It certainly seems hard for Vogel to claim to be “progressive” when he spoke at a dinner honoring Robert Byrd.
