The level of ridiculousness from the author is laid bare for all to see.

The events of January 6th didn't just happen. A group of people set them in motion. Who? Was it Trump? Was it members of the Republican Party? Fox News? When you reflect on January 6th... What actually are you thinking about?

"Not a good look?!" An insurrection attempting to overturn the will of the electorate is not a good look? That's the core value of the Republican Party. When the Supreme Court guts the voting rights act, claiming racism is a thing of the past.... Republican legislatures immediately move to make it more difficult for black and brown people to vote. Brian Kemp in Georgia, who is the Secretary of State, who runs the elections, decides to purge voter rolls of people who committed the great crime of not voting in the previous election. And Mitch McConnell who insisted on the "people having a say" prevented a vote on Merrick Garland, months before the 2016 election... Only a week or two prior to the November 3rd election, after voting had ALREADY begun, rammed through the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, who was by far the least qualified judge nominated in a long time (Harriett Miers may have been less qualified, in fairness).

That's the reality of the Republican Party. They only care about getting their way by steamrolling the will of the people. It was blatantly on display on January 6th... And it was on display when few Republicans voted for impeachment. And it was on display when Mitch McConnell got up and gave an impassioned speech about how Trump was guilty as sin, but he was going to vote to acquit for fictitious technical reasons which he made up on the spot and for which he created the circumstances for. Republicans have no core moral compass. All they care about is power, and it bothers them not to steal that power away from the will of the people.

And the author very clearly displays this... All she cared about was getting conservative judges on the courts (because McConnell refused to hold hearings for most of Obama's choices, thwarting his Constitutional duties). She downplayed the trivialities of Trump's bad behavior, which was rooted in his disdain for the rule of law, and precedents, and honesty, and decency... All she cared about was getting policies rammed through without the consent of the governed... and she can't put two and two together and realize that when you abuse the truth, when you lie to the people, when you manipulate things to get what you want, January 6th is the ultimate result. Her reflections on January 6th make a mockery of holding anyone accountable for anything.
