Is the Cox/Schifanelli Campaign Now Embracing the COVID Vaccine from China?
Why is Schifanelli excited about a vaccine that may enrich the Chinese Communist Party?
Gordana Schifanelli had posted this about Sinovac’s vaccine against COVID:
Sinovac is a Chinese biopharmaceutical company specializing in vaccines. (Just FYI: The company has been investigated for bribery back in China.) The name of their Covid vaccine is CoronaVac. China has been supplying the vaccine to various countries across Asia, South America, and Europe, as well as to their own citizens.
Republican members of Congress have raised concerns that U.S. taxpayer dollars used to buy Sinovac may be used to enrich the Chinese Communist Party.
Here is why we should not even be considering the product, even if we wanted to buy from China.
First, prior to Omicron, Sinovac’s efficacy rates were lower than those of other vaccines at around 51% protection against symptomatic disease in the initial trials. Two doses plus the booster failed to produce sufficient levels of neutralizing antibodies to protect against Omicron. Now the folks who got the initial two doses need to seek out a different manufacture to boost – most likely, Pfizer/BioNTech. “None of the Sinovac recipients had detectable neutralizing antibodies to the Omicron variants.”
Even China has to figure out a way to boost their population of 1.4 billion people. “The challenge for the Chinese authorities will be to re-engage their population’s commitment to another round of vaccine.”
Secondly, I have to ask if Ms. Schifanelli has discussed this with her running partner for Governor, Dan Cox. Dan Cox is quite opposed to anything China and the CCP. He has made that abundantly clear.
