Having learned nothing from his two most recent defeats, Dan Cox is running for Governor again
Former Delegate and 2022 GOP gubernatorial nominee Dan Cox is back on his bullshit running for Governor again.
Cox’s running mate is the one person who would say yes Rob Krop, owner of gun store the Machine Gun Nest in Frederick County.
The Duckpin has an extensive library of materials on Cox’s doomed campaign for Governor in 2022 here.

Cox, of course, was thoroughly wiped out, bringing forth an electoral bloodbath that wrecked the Maryland GOP for the next decade. A defeat that to this day Cox still blames on others.
In his 2022 run, Dan Cox received the lowest raw vote total for a Maryland Republican gubernatorial nominee since William Shephard in 1990.
Cox ran for Congress again in 2024, losing in the Republican primary. He managed to continue making countless errors in that campaign, and even screwed up a Pearl Habor tribute post.
More recently, Cox accused Joe Biden of sending “black helicopters” after him.
Earlier this week, Cox took to Facebook to proclaim that last Sunday’s winter storm was caused by chemtrails.
Cox’s epic defeat to Wes Moore was easily predictable. And Cox’s candidacy and disastrous campaign are why Wes Moore was elected, became Governor, and quickly left the state with a billion-dollar deficit. Nominating Cox once was a Black Swan. Nominating Cox twice would be Maryland Republican voters giving up on electing candidates in competitive elections for the next twenty years. The Maryland GOP cannot survive that kind of ass-kicking again, especially in a year where they face a potentially massive, Trump-inspired blue wave.
If Maryland Republican Voters choose Cox again as their nominee, it will be political suicide. And yet, Cox is instantaneously the favorite because the other band of schmucks who have announced their candidacies are thoroughly unimpressive and unimportant.
If they choose Cox again, the voters are basically ending the Maryland GOP as we know it. It will, basically, be….
