Everywhere you look, the Democrats have a consistent message urging people to support Question 3.
The one problem with that message is the fact that….none of it is true.
While Maryland Democrats have festooned their Yes on Question 3 branding with “Stop Trump”, the facts of the matter are that nothing occurring on Question 3 will do anything to stop Trump.
Ask yourself this: if Question 3 passes, and if new districts are adopted by the General Assembly, how many days will the new districts be in place before Trump leaves office?
Seventeen. Seventeen days. That’s it.
No, what Question 3 is about is restoring Democratic hegemony over Congressional Districts in a manner that breaks up communities and prioritizes representing Democratic Party interests instead of the interests of Marylanders. Like this mess did.
So why is the Maryland Democratic Party doing this? Becuase they know Donald Trump is wildly unpopular in Maryland and they hope that some of Donald Trump’s stank can rub off on efforts to oppose Question 3. Even though most people opposing Question 3 are opposing the Question on its own merits.
I oppose Question 3, and it doesn’t matter who wants to engage in gerrymandering; I’m against it. But I’m also against it becuase I have seen the games that the Maryland Democratic Party plays in rigging districts, rigging redistricting commissions, and drawing districts for political priorities instead of community interest.
And that’s before we even address the Constitutional questions raised by the Maryland Supreme Court rewriting the language for the ballot question that makes the language different from what the General Assembly passed.
The Maryland Democratic Party, the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Fight Back Maryland Group are all lying to You About Question 3. Ask them why they’re so scared of the truth.
