Matthew Perry's Greatest Role
He may be best known as Chandler Bing, but Matthew Perry's best role was as Joe Quincy
When actor Matthew Perry passed away over the weekend, everybody focused on his world-famous role as Chandler Bing on the smash 1990’s hit Friends.
What most people don’t like to admit was that Friends was an absolutely terrible show that got popular for reasons that I don’t entirely understand. It was neither funny, nor relatable, yet it lasted for ten years. You can’t argue that the show didn’t make a lot of money.
While that may be Perry’s most famous role, his best role was on a different NBC show, where Perry guest starred for three episodes.
Perry guest starred as Joe Quincy on The West Wing. Quincy was a Republican attorney who wound up being named Associate White House Counsel in the Democratic Bartlet Administration.
In three episodes, Perry was nominated for more Emmy Awards than he ever did as a member of the Cast of Friends.
If you have never watched The West Wing why the hell not you can watch Perry’s performances in the following episodes, the last two of which are among the best in their seasons:
Season 4: “Evidence of Things Things Not Seen”
Season 4: “Life on Mars”
Season 5: “Separation of Powers”
