A statement from Lt. Governor Aruna Miller highlights the issues with "gender-affirming care"
Governor Wes Moore today signed yet another virtue signaling Executive Order aimed at improving his 2028 Presidential chances making Maryland “a leader in gender-affirming care”.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — During last evening’s LGBTQIA+ reception at Government House, Governor Wes Moore signed an executive order to protect gender affirming health care in Maryland, building on the administration's dedication to safeguard the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals. The order will protect those seeking, receiving, or providing gender affirming care in Maryland from attempts at legal punishment by other states.
“In the State of Maryland, nobody should have to justify their own humanity,” said Gov. Moore. “This order is focused on ensuring Maryland is a safe place for gender affirming care, especially as other states take misguided and hateful steps to make gender affirming care cause for legal retribution. In Maryland, we are going to lead on this issue.”
“In signing this executive order, this administration is saying to all LGBTQIA+ Marylanders: You deserve to be your authentic selves — during Pride month and every month,” said Lt. Gov. Miller. “You deserve to live safely, openly, and freely; and receive the gender affirming care you need.”
Realistically, Moore’s Executive Order is little more than virtue signaling that will have no impact on Maryland or Marylanders. Though Miller, says that transsexuals “deserve to live safely, openly, and freely” there is no place in the United States where transsexuals can’t do just that as it is.
But there is something even more insidious in Miller’s statement.
You deserve to be your authentic selves — during Pride month and every month
You see, people who receive so-called “gender affirming care” are not actually being their true selves. A man who gets an operation to become a woman is still genetically a man. A woman who gets an operation to become a man is still genetically a woman. A transsexual woman cannot have a baby. A transsexual man cannot impregnate a woman.
Truth doesn’t stop being truth just because you pretend it’s false.
And that’s the issue with the Democratic attitude to transgender public policy. Most people, myself included, really don’t give a good damn how people want to live their lives and what they do to their own bodies. It’s dragging everybody else into the charade when it becomes a problem. Trying to pretend that somebody is something that they aren’t and berating those who state the obvious. It’s like berating somebody for saying the sky is blue.
Moore and Miller are free to what they believe, no matter how delusional it is. But when taxpayers are being asked to foot the bill for something that is not a clear public policy interest in order for the Administration to ask taxpayers pay the bill on it is beyond irresponsible and an insult to those of us who actually understand human biology. Miller may think that Maryland is “letting people be their true selves” but instead she is just helping perpetuate a fantasy that taxpayers are footing the bill for.
