The misinformation around the Covid mRNA vaccines is abundant. And this misinformation is irresponsibly spread by non-medical people who are unable to understand medical studies and literature. I can assure you that, until you have been involved as a bona fide researcher in interpreting medical research, you have no idea of how complicated and intricate this science is.
I’m going to start today with the misinformation around the efficacy of the mRNA vaccines. These vaccines are effective.
The CDC has recently provided an excellent observational study entitled: Effectiveness of a Third Dose of mRNA Vaccines Against Covid Associated Emergency Department and Urgent Care Encounters and Hospitalizations Among Adults During Periods of Delta and Omicron Variant Predominance – VISION Network, 10 States, August2021-January 2022.
A few key points:
The booster dose is not only reducing the number of infections with Omicron, they are also keeping infected Americans out of the hospital.
The first study found that the booster restored the 90% protection for hospitalization.
The second study looked at 10 million Covid cases and more than 117,000 associated deaths. Cases and deaths were lower among people receiving the booster, and much lower than the people who not vaccinated.
The third study indicated that the third dose provided more protection against symptomatic infection than either 2 doses or no doses: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2788485

I’m providing further evidence of the efficacy of the vaccine by posting easy-to-read graphs along with the twitter link. I hope that you will read through the tweet’s feed:
NYC’s Omicron Surge: The graphs speak for themselves.
Rates of Covid Cases and Deaths by Vaccination Status and Booster Doses. Again the graphs speak for themselves:

I could go on and on with these efficacy graphics.
“Through November 2021, we estimate that the Covid-19 vaccination program in the US prevented 1,087,191 additional deaths and 10,319,961 additional hospitalizations. “ – Jeffrey Duchin, MD
Again the vaccine is your best bet for us to return to normal. We can only get on offense against this virus if all of us participate.
The vaccine works, but hey, let's have lockdowns, masks and social distancing. #FuckOffBarb
