In a society obsessed with race the parabolic reaction to twist my words—words that included thoughts penned by two black social scientists—into an essay about ethnicity was inevitable. Those with savior complexes crowded the pew of the Church of Wokeness, waved their DeAngelo manifestos in the air, and immediately turned to insults, even calling into question my ability to raise my daughter.
