News and Politics
Christie's Court Action in Maine is Disqualifying: The rules apply to everyone, and Christie's Maine lawsuit makes him little different from Trump in this regard.
Democratic Poll Shows Maryland Voters Want to Have Their Cake and Eat It Too: Maryland's "Middle Temperament" ain't in much of the middle anymore. And the Maryland Republican Party is currently uniquely unqualified to do much about it.
Still Fighting the Fox in the Henhouse: We've been fighting Anne Arundel County Schools over a book promoting transgenderism. Their indifference to the book and to the evidence is damning.
Programming Note
There will be no edition of The Runback next week, since Monday is Christmas. Go to Mass. Enjoy the time off. Watch the Ravens that night. Gamble. Whatever.
The Monday Thought
We’re a week away from Christmas and it’s time to start thinking about Christmas presents! Like 2020, 2021, and 2022 let’s talk about some of the things that certain public figures should find under the tree this year?
Two of the things I correctly suggested last year actually happened:
For Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman: a one-way ticket out of Baltimore;
For House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy; to at least be forced to sit through two Speaker of the House votes;
Little did we know about just how many votes McCarthy would have to sit through. Or that he wouldn’t even make it to this Christmas as speaker.
So what’s under this year’s tree? Have a look:
For Governor Wes Moore; some sense of shame and the ability to realize that he shreds whatever remains of his credibility every time he opens his mouth;
For Orioles fans; finalizing the new lease dea, new ownership, and a World Championship;
For The Angelos Family; $4 billion, courtesy of David Rubenstein;
For Dan Cox; A new Scrabble set. Seems like the one Scrabble set he has for his family is only full of L’s.
For Donald Trump: a size 4XL orange jumpsuit.
For Chris Hyser: a humbling.
For the Ravens; finally getting over the hump and back to winning the Super Bowl, the one thing that has eluded this team in the Lamar Jackson era.
For me; hopefully that Sheetz I’ve been promised;
For Bill Belichick, one more crack at an NFL head coaching job so we can figure out it was him or Tom Brady most responsible for the Patriots dynasty;
For the 4-team College Football Playoff; to exit in chaos with a split national championships;
For our country; a peaceful, sane election.1
For Taylor Swift; a new vault for the rest of the billions she’s making off of American consumers and giving them what they apparently want to hear.
For your, our readers: I wish you nothing but health and peace as we celebrate the birth of our Lord this Christmas season.
Not bloody likely the way Trump’s acting
