No Democratic Governor of Maryland has been denied re-election since 1950. But Wes Moore is trying hard to join that list.
At the outset, the poorly structured and not properly conducted Baltimore Banner poll conducted by Democratic pollster OpinionWorks LLC, (who persists in polling registered voters instead of likely voters, even though registered voters make the poll statistically meaningless) looks like positive news for Wes Moore. After all, Moore has a 54% approval rating compared to a 36% disapproval rating.
But the devil, as always, is in the details, and the details show a candidate for re-election struggling on the issues voters care about the most.
