The clock strikes midnight on the Maryland General Assembly Session in one week, and like a 10th grader doing a book report, Democrats are waiting until the very last minute to get the budget done.
The State Senate is expected to pass the budget Tuesday, with six days to go. That is fine and dandy, but then the budget will have to go to the Conference Committee.
And that’s when all hell will break loose as the Chambers fight each other over which parameters make the final budget, while voters wait to see just how bad Governor Wes Moore and his Democratic allies are going to screw them with higher taxes.
It’s almost like I said this would happen.
I have said, time and time again, that this is no way to run a state.
