Will Nicolee Ambrose Have A Challenger?
Rumors swirl that Vikki Birkett will jump in National Committeewoman race
Last Saturday, the Montgomery County Republican Party held its Annual GOP Convention and the room was a buzz. Candidates for U.S Senate and Congressional District 6 were in attendance, but those races weren’t the only races folks were talking about.
It’s no secret that in a matter of weeks, the Maryland Republican Party will convene not just to elect delegates to the National Convention, but will have elections for National Committeeman and National Committeewoman. And while National Committeeman David Bossie looks to be unchallenged despite his lack of accomplishments for Maryland and his focus on being a Donald Trump sycophant, the other race may become a contest.
Self-important ne'er-do-well Nicolee Ambrose has served as Maryland’s National Committeewoman for the last 12 years. That may not stop Montgomery County resident Victoria “Vikki” Birkett from entering the race.
Birkett currently serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Maryland Federation of Republican Women and President of the Upper Montgomery County Republican Women. Several sources have indicated that Birkett plans to run against Ambrose next month.
Birkett has only been a resident of the state of Maryland for a whopping 2.5 years. The fact that she thinks she deserves one of the top spots in the MDGOP is comical, though not surprising with the number of elections she has run and continues to run for.
Last October, Birkett ran for 2nd Vice President of the MFRW narrowly defeating then 4th Vice President Maria Sofia, by 1 vote in a low turnout MFRW election. Members said her speech was divisive, and unprofessional, and included the language, “We don’t need young, sophomoric, inexperienced women in leadership.” However, Sofia’s involvement in Republican politics dates back nearly a decade, holding several leadership positions and has even received awards for her election wins from the MDGOP for the last decade. Her experience in the state party dwarfs Birkett’s experience as a Marylnder.
Birkett is also running to be a Trump Delegate in Congressional District 8. As seen below, Birkett announced her run for delegate on social media this past February, not even a month after she was sworn in as MFRW’s 2nd Vice President.
Birkett also appears to be mounting a campaign for National Committeewoman. Just last weekend, Birkett posted on social media taking credit for the MDGOP’s Super Saturday in Montgomery County with no mention of the MDGOP, the MDGOP Grassroots Committee, or Ambrose.
While one can easily point out the fecklessness of Super Saturday and the uselessness of the Grassroots Committee, both are projects spearheaded by Ambrose. Birkett has had no involvement with them whatsoever.
The MDGOP National Committeewoman Election this May appears to be heating up. Based on Birkett’s track record and history of title grabbing, her run for National Committeewoman shouldn’t be surprising. And while Nicolee Ambrose has done nothing to warrant her re-election, Birkett appears to be just another Nicolee Ambrose in the making.
Vikki is not running, according to her own words. #FakeNews
"with no mention of the MDGOP, the MDGOP Grassroots Committee, or Ambrose."
