You Can't Spell "Charles Lollar" without a lot of L's
Yes, the former Maryland Candidate is running for office again.
The political world’s answer to the Washington Generals is back at it once again. Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Lollar, the candidate some dead-end Republicans said was “the only candidate that could win” the gubernatorial election, only to finish third in the Republican primary to Larry Hogan, has once again resurfaced as a candidate in Georgia.
This time, Lollar has returned to identifying as a Republican and is running for Georgia State Representative in the 110th District for the third consecutive election. According to Fair Maps Georgia, the district is Solid Democratic.
Lollar first ran for office in 2002 for Cobb County, GA Council and in 2004 for a local school board.
I have extensively covered Lollar’s disastrous political career in Maryland. After losing a race for Congress in 2010, Lollar made history in 2014 as the first candidate to ever lose two separate races in one year. He finished a distant 3rd in the race for Governor in the primary and finished a distant 2nd as a Republican nominee for Charles County Commissioner.
In 2020, Lollar reinvented himself as an independent social justice candidate for Congress. Lollar failed to qualify for the ballot in his Congressional run but resurfaced in 2021 to run for Lawrenceville City Council. And lost.
Lollar was disqualified from his 2022 campaign for the Georgia House before taking another L in 2024, losing by 30 points to the Democratic incumbent. Now, he tries again.
Lollar abandoned his residence in Maryland shortly after losing both elections in 2015, according to one of Lollar’s two LinkedIn profiles. Interestingly, it says that he still has a job as President of McLane Company despite listing Retired Military as his occupation.
Lollar, oddly, still has a second LinkedIn profile from his time as the Republican nominee for Congress in Maryland’s 5th District.
Lollar’s actual profession, other than professional candidate, appears to be the “Senior Pastor” of Trinity World Christian Center.
Lollar’s run for City Council marks Lollar’s eleventh run for office since 2002. So far, Lollar has a record of 0-10. I guess some people can’t take the hint.
