A Coward's Way Out
Andy Harris didn't vote for the Big Beautiful Bill. And he didn't vote against it. He was just.......there.
We have known for a while that Andy Harris loves being the tallest midget in the room, but today, we learned something else.
Andy Harris is a coward.
Harris, who earlier this week predicted the “Big, Beautiful Bill” would not pass and that he personally opposed it, voted “present” on the bill on the floor of the House a little before 7 this morning.
Harris didn’t vote against it. Harris didn’t vote for it. He voted “Present”, becoming the only member of the House of Representatives to NOT take a side.
So how exactly does Harris try to explain away his “vote” on the bill? By lying:
No, Harris didn’t “vote to move the bill along in the process for the President.” He was just…..there.
It’s bizarre to me that Harris, who abandoned whatever conservative principles long ago to become Trump’s lackey, decided that he could not be bothered to vote for the bill that he claims to have helped move along. Just as it is bizarre to me that Harris, who claims to have opposed the bill, did absolutely nothing to stop the passage of the bill when his vote and his vote alone could have stopped the bill from passing.
Instead, Harris took the coward’s way out. Instead of doing the right thing and voting against the bill, Harris decided that he would rather have Donald Trump not be mad at him but ALSO wanted to say that he did not vote for the increased spending.
Instead of showing leadership, Andy Harris decided to take the coward’s way out of a bad situation. Instead of doing his job, he decided to take a walk. It’s a sad and truly pathetic statement about a sad and truly pathetic man.
As he has done so many, many times before, Andy Harris has shown that he is unfit to serve as a Member of Congress any longer. When will 1st District Republicans say enough is enough?
